Sipping Coffee in Tokyo, Japan
I first realized I REALLY loved fashion and wanted to “live” it when I was sitting in the middle of Tokyo, Japan, sipping coffee at a subway station cafe. I have always enjoyed people watching and was particularly awakened by the Japanese and how they express themselves through their clothes. Their fashion is completely uninhibited. They show you who they are by what they wear. Sitting in the cafe that afternoon my senses were heightened and my interest piqued. I decided that very day that I enjoyed clothing and its art form too much to not do it for a living. I returned home to beautiful San Diego and contacted a graphic designer to begin work on my branding. One month later, “I’m a stylist,” began my conversations when introducing myself and my career. My friends and family were my first customers, with neighbors and friends-of-friends quickly following. Within a year, I was getting calls from local rock bands and magazines to help with photo shoots and runway shows. The rest is history.
This section of the website is a combination of photos and people who inspire me, fashion-wise. I may feature a particularly stylish person on the street and explain what they are wearing and why we can all learn from it. Photos of me will be featured and I will explain where I’m headed and why I chose the particular outfit. I hope you will be inspired along the way. Style is much more than a fashionable outfit. Style is poise and confidence. It is a reflection of you. Whether you like it or not, the way you look and present yourself says more about you as a person than you may be aware. The way you carry yourself is shouting out very clearly what your inner voice is saying, doing and thinking. I never take myself too seriously because life is too short. On the other hand, I take what I do very seriously because when you look good, you feel good.

Style Inspiration: Summer
Eight years ago I decided that I love fashion too much! I had my wedding coordinating business thriving and loved it, and also felt there was room for my fashion obsession. So, I came home from a trip to Tokyo, Japan, and made myself a business card. I started styling neighbors and friends first, and the rest is history.
Fast forward to now:
I decided, “What better way to learn more about fashion than to WORK fashion?’ I walked myself right up to Customer Service at Nordstrom Fashion Valley and asked to speak to the Personal Stylist department manager. She was able to meet with me and it was like magic! POW WOW!!
I am now a Personal Stylist at Nordstrom Fashion Valley. I work on my computer early in the morning at home with all my wedding organization and then pop over to Nordstrom a few days a week. I work my weddings on Saturday and work Nordstrom on Sunday. I LOVE IT!!
I dress mothers of the bride, bridesmaids, even brides!! I style new mothers, career girls, students, grandmas, fashion people and every day women. I also style dads, businessmen, and every day guys. My brain is filled with ideas and knowledge and observation. I am working but it feels like I’m playing. I bring my expertise and educate my customers and they trust and embrace my ideas.
I’m just over a year in and I’m feeling the strong undercurrent of productivity and pride. The possibilities seem endless and I’m looking forward to what my future at Nordstrom holds!
